American Dream

The film is about the 6-month strike at Hormel Foods (Austin, Minnesota) in 1985-86. Local union P-9 rejects the company's decision to cut wages and declares a strike. The FCWU disagrees with this measure, though. The conflict is growing, and chaos starts among the strikers. New people come into power within the union. The new contract enforced by the company becomes a reality. The filmmakers ask: was it worth it?
