Die ideologische Ausrichtung der Lehrkräfte 1933–1945

Saskia Müller / Benjamin Ortmeyer 2017 Germany
The National Socialist Teachers’ League organized 97 percent of all educators. One third of them were members of the NSDAP. Nevertheless, the downplaying of the NSLB still persists stubbornly even within educational science. Based on an analysis of the NSLB’s central organ, the present study demonstrates that the NSLB was by no means a harmless professional organization, but rather that from 1933 onward it was an integral part of the criminal Nazi system. The association was part of the Nazi regime, which actively relied on the NSLB’s agitation, racism, and antisemitism both to prepare for and to accompany its actual programs of mass murder.
