El movimiento obrero en Rosario. Clase, organización y lucha en torno a la Federación Obrera Local Rosarina (1870-1915) / The labor movement in Rosario. Class, organization and struggle around the Rosario Local Workers' Federation (1870-19

Carlos Álvarez 2025 Latin America
The early history of the labor movement in Rosario has repeatedly been placed on the Procrustean bed of national historiography, its edges forced to fit into a bed that is not its own. While common structures exist, much of the Rosario labor movement's trajectory was marked by its unique characteristics. The city's working class entered the 20th century, both consolidated and in the process of formation as a labor movement, and experienced significant organizational developments that shaped the pulse of labor conflicts in the first two decades of the last century. Furthermore, it was fundamentally structured around the Rosario Local Workers' Federation, a union organization with vicissitudes that these pages seek to reconstruct and analyze. From a social and political historical perspective, we propose a comprehensive view of the Rosario labor movement from its organization until 1915, a pivotal year that opens another chapter in its history.
