The documentary "Harvesting Anger: Lemons in Tucumán" exposes the harsh reality for citrus industry workers in Tucumán. Argentina is the world's leading exporter of industrial lemon products and the eighth largest exporter of fresh lemons. While companies in the sector earn fortunes, harvesters and packing workers receive meager wages, work on a piece-rate basis, and are forced to migrate to other provinces as seasonal workers. The voices of the workers are central to and guide the documentary's narrative, which also includes testimonies from union leaders and business owners. These, along with exclusive footage, reveal the appalling working conditions on the farms. "Harvesting Anger: Lemons in Tucumán" also aims to highlight the experiences of rural workers organizing themselves, who, since 2020, have been self-organizing with community groups to change their living conditions. To highlight this situation and encourage reflection and debate on the tools available to workers in one of the country's main economic sectors to fight for their rights.
