Hoffa

Jack Nicholson stars as James R. Hoffa, the president of the truck drivers' union. The film chronicles the beginning of his career, his first strikes and victories, his fierce clashes with Robert Kennedy, the president's brother, and his dealings with the mafia. It follows his trial and imprisonment, and ultimately his assassination after his release, as he attempted to reclaim his former position, already taken by his former associates. Danny DeVito plays Bobby Ciaro, Hoffa's loyal comrade and ally, who was killed alongside him by hired assassins. They were no saints, but their actions significantly improved workers' lives.
