Kill the Irishman

The film chronicles the rise and fall of Danny Greene. He worked as a longshoreman on the Cleveland docks, until being chosen to serve as interim president of the International Longshoremen's Association in 1961. Then he worked as a gangster "union organizer" in the Garbage Union. After that, he rose to become the head of his own gang, starting a brutal war with the Italian mafia for control of racketeering in the city. The conflict erupted into a string of killings and attempts on lives, which led to Cleveland in the 1970s being called the "City of Bombs." The film stars Ray Stevenson ("Rome"), Christopher Walken (1 Oscar; "Catch Me If You Can"), and Val Kilmer ("Batman Forever").
