After the remarks at the State Council on February 21, 2023, the National Police Agency, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the conservative media joined forces to push construction workers as 'thugs' and began to suppress them in all directions. The KCTU Construction Union was searched and searched a total of 22 times, and about 2,250 construction workers were summoned and investigated, 42 of them were arrested. In May of that year, a worker threw himself at his own life with a cry to stop unfair labor oppression and hate politics. The death of the Yang Hoe-dong War, who confronted the government that drove the demand to receive the right to receive a fair price and a safe working environment with extortion and threats, brought a great sense of loss to many people. The Machang Geoje Industrial Disaster Expulsion Movement Alliance (Sanchuryun) and the Gyeongnam People's Daily decided to investigate the oppression of construction workers in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam and record how their daily lives are collapsing. Human rights activists, migrant activists, and reporters interviewed 12 construction workers working in the fields of excavators, dumps, ready-mixed concretes, rebars, frames, al-forms, gang-formscaffolds, soaking, and internal construction processes, and compiled their oral skills into a book. "I live as a worker, not a narborer" is a chronicle of the work, life, and struggle of those who 'my heart collapsed while building other people's buildings'
