Mother

A drunk father stumbles home and tries to take the clock off the wall to pawn it for drinking money. His wife stops him, and in the struggle, they both fall, breaking the clock. Furious, he tries to hit her, but their son steps in to defend her. The father storms out and joins a group planning to attack striking workers. The next day, he dies in a brawl with the strikers. Horrified, the mother learns her son is involved with the revolutionaries and fears she'll lose him too. In a desperate attempt to protect him, she turns him in to the police, hoping to keep him safe from harm.
