Ni Dios, ni patrón, ni marido / Neither God, Nor Master, Nor Husband
In 1896, Virginia Bolten, a well-known thirty-year-old anarchist, arrives in Buenos Aires, where she meets her friend Matilde, who, along with other women, works at Genaro Volpon’s textile mill under the harsh conditions of the time. Matilde, Filomena, Rosalía, and other mill workers gather around Virginia to carry out an old project of hers: to publish a newspaper that denounces the double exploitation faced by women in the 19th century — both for their class and their gender. They decide to call it La Voz de la Mujer (“The Voice of the Woman”). When Lucía Boldoni, a prima donna of the national opera, learns about this group of women who in some way practice feminist militancy, she becomes interested and decides to attend their gathering while hiding her true identity.
