Nos hommes

One November morning, the mobile phones of Sarah, Frédérique, Ludivine, Lise and other women ring. A text message delivers the same news dozens of times: Prysmian-Draka, the factory where their partners manufacture fibre-optic cable, is going to close. While their men negotiate the terms of their dismissal, the women come together, organise and take action. They become active participants in a struggle involving the state, employers and the working class. Nos hommes follows the journey of a collective of women whose partners have been laid off—a reflection on women's and working-class lives in a capitalist society.

Calais La Sociale

Calais La Sociale is a non-profit collective formed in October 2022. Our aim is to tell the stories of the lives and struggles of workers, unemployed people and, more broadly, all those whose commitment keeps the Calais area alive.
