Set in 1977, France. Robert Pujol is the owner of an umbrella factory where the workers are on strike. Attempts to resolve this issue land Pujol in the hospital. The factory is run by his wife, Suzanne, a typical housewife. However, it soon becomes clear that she manages the factory with ease. Additionally, the mayor of the town, a communist named Maurice Bobin, has taken an interest in Suzanne. Furthermore, Madame Pujol decides to run for office...
