The 1972 general strike, the great moments of the “labor movement”—I’ve often seen these narratives turned into polished monuments, illustrated and emptied of their contradictions. But this film doesn’t do that. This film disarmed me. It wasn’t a calm homage or a celebration. It was doing something else: it dug deeper. It questioned. It listened.
