Paul, Mike, Len, and Jerry work as railroad repairmen in Yorkshire. Jerry, a union activist, aims to improve the everyday lives of the workers, but management isn’t welcoming. Every morning, they dream of privatizing the railroads. Finally, it happens: a private company buys out the local branch of British Railways. The old world begins to crumble, and the repairmen must fight for their rights.
