The Valley of Decision

Set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the 1870s, it stars Greer Garson and Gregory Peck (Oscar for Captain Newman). Mary Rafferty takes a job as a servant in the wealthy home of steel magnate William Scott. Mary and Mr. Scott's son Paul fall in love, which is met with hostility from both families. Suddenly an organized strike intervenes in the events.
