[People's Livelihood Observation, October 8, 2026] Recently, labor rights advocate Xiao Wu (Feng Rui) was taken away by Guangzhou police and placed in criminal detention for suspected provoking trouble, due to his long-term attention to workers and farmers and voicing concerns for vulnerable groups. It is reported that the investigation and questioning by the police mainly revolved around an article published on his official account titled "So Hard, How Can One Rest | 2025 Labor Rights Events". Recently, several of Feng Rui's friends were also summoned or interviewed across provinces by the police due to matters related to the annual review of labor rights.

Xiao Wu's real name is Feng Rui. A graduate of Beijing Normal University, he is the operator of the official account "Chiapas Dongfeng Television", a labor rights advocate, and a self-media creator.

On September 14, 2026, Feng Rui was taken away by the Yuexiu Branch of the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau. He is currently detained in the Detention Center of Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, suspected of provoking trouble.

Friends queried identity information and ultimately found on "Yue Sheng Shi" that Feng Rui was detained in the Yuexiu District Detention Center.

Friends stated that Feng Rui did not organize a team; other media claiming he had a team is incorrect. He conducted an annual review for five years, and everyone feels his professionalism and comprehensiveness regarding labor events are higher than many institutions.

In addition, netizens have successively commented that due to Feng Rui, they were invited by relevant Guangdong authorities for tea. The police's questioning revolved around the article titled "So Hard, How Can One Rest | 2025 Labor Rights Events" (hereinafter referred to as "Review") published on the official account operated by Feng Rui.

The police continuously hinted that the Review contained inaccuracies and suspected misleading the public and disturbing public order, attempting to substantiate the charge of provoking trouble against Feng Rui.

Opening the document "2025 Labor Rights Events Review", one will find that this article, which is over 100,000 words long, cites a vast number of data sources, and almost every paragraph can be traced to its source. All are public information. The cited materials include authoritative media such as CCTV, published journals, and books.

I ask, if there are inaccuracies, why not first reflect on the information system itself and hold the original authors of these articles accountable, instead of characterizing the news collector and organizer as provoking trouble?

Secondly, what fault is there in recording the hardships faced by laborers this year? We all may have been, are, or will become laborers. Recording this year's experiences for laborers themselves has no fault.

Currently, the long article "2025 Labor Rights Events" previously published on the official account operated by Feng Rui has been deleted by the WeChat platform.
